From the Outside Looking In

Today I chatted with one of best girl friends, Carrie, while on my way home from work (hands free of course) and we were talking about how Facebook, blogs etc. make everyone look so good because no one wants to really show their messes. It all just looks perfect from the outside looking in.
I shared with Carrie that from the outside looking in she is a put together (she wears the cutest hats every winter) mother of two with a fabulously supportive husband living in her dream house. She laughed...apparently her little one had spit up on her missing the burp rag entirely and she was still wearing her sweats hoping to get a shower today. (I bet her sweats aren't really sweats like my sweats but cute yoga pants with a stylish top.)
She shared with me that from the outside looking in I am a working mother of two who has the perfect balance. I almost died laughing...then I shared with her that while I was walking into a clean living room the couch was covered and I mean covered with clean laundry ready to be folded. I was hoping to get it all folded before I headed off to girl's night (we're having fondue!) but I don't think I will. So I will leave the house with a couch still covered in laundry, but just in case anyone asks my living room is clean.
Here's my couch in all it's laundry glory!

Coffee Table / Child's Chalkboard Table

Chic & Lovely is brilliant! A coffee table/ child's chalkboard table would be the perfect thing for a small space or even a family room that you don't want kidded out all the time. (Yes, kidded out is totally a phrase.)

Silk Very Vanilla Soy Milk

Yum! That's all I can say about Very Vanilla soy milk by Silk. It makes the BEST lattes! All I have to do is pour a glass, make a shot, and add some ice. Delish! One of my co-workers introduced this to me and I will be forever grateful! Thanks Jennie!

Royal Pillows

I found these King & Queen Ballard inspired pillows at West Furniture Revival. I'm picturing them on my black rockers on my front porch marking the spots for the king and queen of the house. I'm thinking this will be a late spring project since my poor pillows would be soaked with all the rain and wind we've been getting. I'm ready for a little sun...it doesn't even need to be warm just a little shine is all I need.

Daily Goals

I'm a list maker so when I saw Say Yes to Hoboken's Daily Goals I immediately began planning all the lists I could make for not only me, but my boys. This would be perfect for summer break to give the day a bit of structure (I'm a teacher so of course I crave structure!). We're in the process of planning our home craft space so I'll definitely need to add a place for our Daily Goals lists.
Hmmm...chalkboard, magnet board, oh the options!

Paper Plate Leprechaun

Ash just learned how to cut with scissors this weekend. He just likes to cut slits around the edges of the paper so this paper plate leprechaun is the perfect cutting project for him. Check out Busy Bee Kids Crafts for more cool ideas! *I just found this site this morning while searching for dime facts. We introduced the dime during math in my classroom today.

Rainbow Cupcakes

Don't these look delish!?! I think these rainbow cupcakes courtesy of Family Fun would be the perfect St. Patty's day treat.

Or you could make some rainbow layered jello (The Pioneer Woman).

Or if you don't cook at all pour your kiddos a special treat of Lucky Charms. They are after all magically delicious!

Style Crush...Inspiration for TV Room

*I found this through Say Yes To Hoboken
I have a style crush on this room! I just love it! I think it's fun, funky, friendly, and comfy (had to get away from words that begin with f). I'm thinking I could use this as an inspiration room for our TV room. Fingers crossed that the Mr. will like it. He's not one of those guys who doesn't care how the house is decorated. He definitely has an opinion!
